JOSHUA‬ ‭24‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭‬‬

““So fear the Lord and serve him wholeheartedly. Put away forever the idols your ancestors worshiped when they lived beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord alone. But if you refuse to serve the Lord, then choose today whom you will serve. Would you prefer the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates? Or will it be the gods of the Amorites in whose land you now live? But as for me and my family, we will serve the Lord.””

Joshua‬ ‭24‬:‭14‬-‭15‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are many gods we can serve if we don’t choose to serve the living God. All of them pale in comparison by every stretch of the imagination, yet we often choose to serve them. But our God is the living God. His hand is evident throughout our history and extends into our future. It will always be there until the day we die, either as the hand of wrath that writes doom upon the wall, or the hand of sacrifice that beckons us into heaven with the paid price dried upon its scars. God wants us to choose. He wants us to do more than acknowledge and receive. He wants us to choose to love him. He wants us to stand and be counted among the saints who have come before us. our call is to choose him, wholeheartedly and today. Our call is still too stand amongst his people and take sides. From generation to generation, this doesn’t change. Following God is more than mere acknowledgment of his nature. It is choice to accept what that means for us as good. Our futures depend on it.
