EZRA‬ ‭7‬:‭10‬ ‭‬‬

“This was because Ezra had determined to study and obey the Law of the Lord and to teach those decrees and regulations to the people of Israel.”

Ezra‬ ‭7‬:‭10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are many things that Christians determine is right to do but they fail at them miserably. They consistently build plans and set things in motion that ultimately fall apart. Yet the scripture records that Ezra had the favor of God upon his plans and it is quite clear about the reason why. Ezra’s intent was not material wealth, but instead devotion to the Lord. It records that he had set himself up with the task of being a student under the law of God and a teacher of it as well. Ezra loved God’s word. As a scribe, he would’ve traced it for hours a day. He understood it and took it seriously. His interest was in living it and spreading it. It is because of this that God placed his favor upon Ezra. As we begin to build from the rubble of our own wreckage, one thing we can rely on is that God enables and places his favor upon us when we take him and his word seriously. In a very real sense, we must take up the mantle of the scribe and etch it into our every thought and action. It is this love for God and his input, that will bring success more than any other thing we could do.
