“So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding. God has now revealed to us his mysterious will regarding Christ—which is to fulfill his own good plan. And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.”
Ephesians 1:6-10 NLT
Paul succinctly notes God’s master plan. One day, all things will be reconciled under Jesus Christ. This is not a hidden truth but a plain and obvious truth. The wisdom that surrounds it doesn’t come from a type of gnostic enlightenment but a strong relationship with God. This is not attainable but it is receivable. This is to humanity’s benefit as humans tend to be entitled to that which they benefit from. This is how works based system are cultivated and flourish within the church. Paul makes it clear, a relationship with truth and wisdom is not earned. It is an act of grace that results from accepting Jesus Christ. It is accessible to any who might do so and it important to acknowledge it within the Christian life. This is because, one day, all of humanity will be united under Christ. On that day, we will stand accountable for judgement. Many will come in smugness of their earthly knowledge but God makes it clear that grace of our only hope when we come against God.
