EPHESIANS 1:3-5

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure.”

Ephesians‬ ‭1:3-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Paul notes the origin of Christian blessings. For most Christians, there will be a struggle to comprehend the origins of salvation and inheritance as a part of the efforts we have made. But Paul challenges us to think logically about a being whose existence defines space and time. We he truth is that God had set these blessings into motion long before they were attainable to us. Paul reveals that the mystery of why he would do that is simple. That is what you do for those you love. The very fact of the nature of salvation and inheritance as offered by grace proves that God’s love is transcendent to the human experience. The implication is that it is rock solid. It cannot be broken. Our hope is not in the depth of understanding we have as to the knowledge and nature of God, though that deepens our blessings. It is in the acceptance and vulnerability we have to God in the face of his love. If we believe in his love and all the blessings that stem from it, then our growth can be assured.
