The idea of a spiritual gift is a seminal idea in our active faith. They are a covenant of sorts between man and God that his image will be a productive one as played out in creation. All people in his body bear the privilege of their gift, while also bearing the burden to use it properly. In ministry, I have found that a large portion of non-commissioned sins (that is sin without intent) is predicated on a spiritual gift that is in chastened & out of control. The pressure metric on the pedal of your gift will always be how it’s usage benefits others. The steering will is navigated by scripture. But first, each person must consign themselves to the idea that their actions spawn from a sort of gravity & pressure to behave a certain way in ministering to others. These are our gifts. It will make every persons ministry unique & every hole of ministry fillable of all parts come together. When you are in ministry, pay close attention to what ways you’re inspired to give. There is your gift.
