Paul had previously told the Corinthians that they were well equipped to live out their faith. This is part of the framework for his coming admonition to the church. Letting people know that they must live rightly is not a statement about a lack of equipping but a lack of discipline, focus and drive to do right with what we have been given. The church of Corinth was well equipped to do right. This is the same for all churches. Being well equipped is not an indicator of maturity.

MY NAME IS JOSH MCGARY. First, I am a Pastor of a small church in Portland, Oregon named Aletheia Bible Fellowship. We call it ABF. I have been a pastor there for the better part of 20 years. I am very eclectic. What I love, I love loudly and immersively. I have notable collections of toys, funko pops, and vinyl. I also infamously love pop culture, comic books, technology, the arts, psychology and philosophy. https://sleek.bio/joshmcgary View more posts
