ABOUT THE MUSIC
The God of the Bible is a God of love and justice. The Bible is pretty clear that he has specific thoughts on the constant rejection of his truth. This song is about that moment, wherein a relationship, God says that enough is enough.
There will be a time of judgment. There will be a time when we will know his truth, as truth. There will be a time when we must own up to the fact that we are terrible to him.
For Reject, I wanted to tap into that universal need to be affirmed in the face of extreme mistreatment. I believe that this extreme need for vindication that is encapsulated in so many breakup and revenge songs is sorely lacking in the musical catalogs of a god who deserves his just due. His judgment needs an anthem that does it emotional justice and speaks plainly to its reasonable nature. Conversely, I hope it gets people thinking and serves as a warning for just how hurt God is and just how that will play out in the end who don’t care about his feelings.
