PSALM‬ ‭112‬:‭1‬-‭10‬ ‭

“Praise the Lord! How joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in obeying his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere; an entire generation of godly people will be blessed. They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last forever. Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. The wicked will see this and be infuriated. They will grind their teeth in anger; they will slink away, their hopes thwarted.”

Psalms‬ ‭112‬:‭1‬-‭10‬ ‭NLT

What does it look like to fear God. To fear God is to be afraid of nothing except God. This is the crux of living in the fear of the Lord. The implications for this are massive. Those who achieve it achieve something of epic proportions. Their deeds accomplished in this reverence take on a lasting value that transcends themselves. Their actions mean something more than their parts. This is because the crux of their behavior follows God’s logic and not man’s. God’s logic is self sacrificial. When this behavior is mirrored, a person’s actions showcase God’s, and they become entangled with his own. For those who endlessly pursue their own fame, glory and power, this becomes a major source of contention. They put themselves at enmity with the godly. Yet even though they may kill the man, they will not kill the legend of the man with his God, that is formed in the wake of their relationship. Many Christians ought to consider God more and whether they have a proper fear of him.
