THE BOX

Justified, enlightened, and now waiting.

The box opens shining light on my trite saga.

And yet I rest in lament,

Trying to prevent

An exodus

From Egypt.

I can see outside and wonder why the lid is removed,

Should I move?

Should I push my way out

Or should I wait or shout for the one who pried my cage… or let my age

Extinguish its own flame?
